Fort No. VII - with new eco-friendly surface
For the Greater Poland Museum of Independence, we have construted a hardening on the 1,400 sqm square at FORT VII in Poznań. There would be nothing special about it, if not for the type of surface that has been chosen. It is an ecological, water-permeable surface.
This solution, while maintaining specific regimes related to the foundation structure, allows to resign from linear drainage. The resin-bonded aggregate has a runoff coefficient of 0. Waste water infiltrates directly into the ground, and not as in the case of typical pavements, where it flows into a storm drain or combined sewer system.
The use of water-permeable surfaces allows you to improve the water balance, relieve the sewage system, and above all, it is a solution that is friendly to nature. The rainwater stays where it should be, supporting little retention.
